- • Note that this united Earldom, Lordship and Barony of Erroll being a duplicate of the peerage (due to post 1874 conveyancing legal reforms) is recognised here as "baron of" following the practice of Lord Lyons historically up to the 2000s, unlike other earldoms there is no recognition from any Lord Lyon for this title, alternative historical spellings are not differentiated enough and the original peerage Earl of Erroll is extant, and there is no letter from that peer for his permission (if such a letter can be procured then this council could review its decision, the Keepers of the Roll reserve the right to exclude entries that are likely to damage the dignity and status of the Baronage).
